Blur or Hide CTA's Downloadable PDF

When choosing a Download Call to Action, have the download from the users perspective be hidden or blurred.

Ways to use a downloads CTA:

  1. Show the download but blurred. Once the user puts in their information, unblur the PDF.

  2. Once the user puts in their information, a new screen pops up with the PDF (that wasn't visible prior).

  3. Once the user puts in their information, they get a notification that the PDF was sent to their email (that they just put in). Then they receive an email where they can download the PDF.

Currently, the download is visible, so there is no point of connecting it with a CTA as the user can see all of the information. We might as well make the information visible without the CTA. This way it could also be aligned and won't be left-aligned when the rest of the CTA is centered.

Best practice: Examples of pages that require you to put in information without seeing a report/PDF are Salesforce with the 2025 Marketing Report and Brightspot with a similar 2025 ebook.

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?

We would want the user to type in their information in order to download/view the PDF without having a preview or at least having a blurred preview.

Thanks for taking the time to submit this suggestion Delayne, and I also appreciate you taking the time to provide an update.

I'm pleased to hear you've been able to find an solution to the concern, although I do feel that this is valid feedback for us to take on board in terms of a future suggestion for the product.

Our developer was able to do this on our end. So you can close this idea, or make it a function.
