Folders for Images

Create folders and tagging capability to organize images in the Recruitment Marketing System. Create search box to search for tags and folders.

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?

It is difficult to locate images we have uploaded to use on our webpages in the Recruitment Marketing System. We typically organize our images by size, by season/time of year, and by subject/topic. While tagging images would help somewhat, we still need to be able to group our images in folders. Tagging alone wouldn't be as useful.

By way of an update on this suggestion, I wanted to share a link to release notes for the recently added image tagging.

Details of the new functionality are available on the Knowledge Portal at this link.

As a reminder, images in the library can now be tagged with one or more tags, and these tags can be used to search for specific images in the library itself, and also when adding an image to website or email content via the relevant editors.

We will assess client feedback and usage of this new functionality during the next few months.

Thanks for the additional feedback Brandi.

At this point, we believe that the addition of the tagging capabilities and the related search functionality is a logical next step along the journey of enhancing the image library. Tagging allows the images to be categorised with multiple attributes (e.g. style, subject, size etc) which might be difficult to achieve by way of a simple folder structure.

That said, tagging and folders structures may well not be mutually exclusive solutions to this problem, and with that in mind, once we've completed the currently planned work and clients have had the opportunity to try it out, we'll work with all our clients to gather feedback, and based on that we'll assess next steps.

Thanks for considering. However, only having the capabiliby to tag photos won't be as useful. Recruiters will be forced to create a tagging process in order to consistently tag photos with the same labels, otherwise they will be hard to find. This causes more work on recruiters in order to manage this section of the sysem.

We will shortly be commencing some work to enhance the image functionality within the Recruitment Marketing system.

At this stage, we anticipate adding the following capabilities:

    • Ability to tag uploaded images

    • Ability to search for tagged images in the image library

    • Ability to search for tagged images when adding an image to web page

At this stage, there are no specific plans to implement folders into the library as we believe that an effective search capability along with well tagged images will provide the desired outcome of being able to more easily manage and locate images within the library.

Thanks for submitting this suggestion Brandi.

Your feedback regarding your challenges with managing items in the image library aligns with some other commentary we've received on this part of the system recently, and as such we are assessing what enhancements might be helpful in this space. We will certainly consider your suggestions here in our thinking.

I'll provide further feedback on this in due course.
