Ability to have phone number formatting to include hyphens

When a candidate enters their phone number on the application, their country code is automatically appended to their phone number when the file is dropped into the ATS. That phone number is passed during the hire integration with our HCM but without formatting it is difficult to identify the country code which varies between 1-3 digits depending on the global region.

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?

Phone number formatting specifically adding a hyphen between country code and the rest of the digits for the phone number.

    Greenhouse is checking/verifying if formatting would be supported. Escalated this issue, again, during a call with our Customer Success Director today (6/25/2024). We also called out the issue of phone type not being able to be selected by a candidate AND not being accessible via the API endpoint for Clinch.

    Thanks for adding this item Erin.

    If I understand correctly, the telephone number entered by the candidate in Clinch is successfully being passed to Greenhouse during the application process, but when you hire someone, the data going to Workday is problematic because the format is not correct for Workday. Is that correct?

    On the assumption (which I have not yet validated) that it was possible to amend the format of the number either as it is entered into Clinch, or as it is passed to Greenhouse, have Greenhouse confirmed that they would have no problems in receiving the telephone number in that format?
